Kettlebell Progress
First of all I must mention that my new toy has finally arrived!! My new Gymboss interval timer!! Here is a pic..

This little machine is going to make my interval workouts SO much easier! As I rarely do any cardio on the machines at the gym now, this gives me so many more options than my polar heart rate monitor and it will also save me from friggin looking at my watch all the time when doing timed exercises!!
On another note, my appointment with Ben Minos from The Courage Corner was fantastic. He corrected me on a couple of little things I was doing incorrectly with my swing and taught me all about power breathing and how I can also apply this to my workouts for both Kb’s and dumbbells. Unfortnately as we spent the first 15-20 mins having a chat about this and that, the hour went extremely quick!
So, I have made another appointment to go and see him next Wednesday night at 6.00pm to have another session and hopefully learn some more exercises. I am also going to be doing my kettlebell certification through AKI which he runs int conjunction with the guys from www.kettlebells.com.au. I told him I’m away until the end of August so (hint, hint) could he make the next course after that so I can go
This will also give me some time to get more or my Cert 4 subjects done. This weekend I am going to sit my theory test for the second subject – so fingers crossed I pass so I can move onto subject #3.
Anyway, I have a few days to practice my swing technique and get it spot on. God I love these things!!!

Very Excited!!

Because I have made an appointment to see Ben Minos from The Courage Corner on Thursday morning at 6am.
As well as being a kettlebell expert, Ben is also a physiotherapist. So I am going to get him to check out my back and then the rest of the time will be spent checking out my form on the kettlebell and hopefully I will also learn some new exercises!!
So I will let you know how I go..

Only Got 15 mins??
The worst excuse in the book is ‘I don’t have time to exercise’.
For me, I exercise first thing in the morning because it’s done, it’s out of the way and it makes me feel good. However, if I left my workouts until the afternoon, I know that I would find 101 reasons not to workout.
But sometimes there are days when things don’t go to plan and I only have small opportunites to get my workout in for the day and this is where kettlebells are extremely effective.
For example, if you only have 15 minutes to spare, try this heart pumping workout!!
- Two handed swings x 10
- Two handed high pulls then squat x 10
- Clean and press x 5 each side
- Lunge with Kb in racked position x 5 each side
- Halo with side twist x 5 each side
- Alternating swings x 10 each side
Rest 1 minute before repeat x 1.

In the pictures, Jay is working out with Lisa Balash, owner of Elite Physiques kettelbell studio in Las Vegas. Jay is loving the cardio challenge that Kettlebell’s provide and also the results for the glute hamstring tie in separation.
